Lake Phalen Rowing is committed to providing rowing opportunities to underserved populations, regardless of ability to pay. All youth should have the opportunity to row and experience the benefits of being "ALL IN THE SAME BOAT" and working toward excellence on and off the water together.

Our mission is to provide an environment to teach rowing while promoting sportsmanship, confidence, leadership, overall health, and provide future opportunities for college success. Many athletes have benefited through college placement and even scholarships. Not all students have been able to take advantage of such pathways to success, especially in lower income demographics where difficult home circumstances or reduced activity may stand in the way. We believe that introducing our rowing program and service to an underserved youth population will increase opportunity for access to the sport of rowing, increase inclusion and diversity among our student-athletes, provide leadership development opportunities, and promote higher levels of daily activity and improved quality of life for those that we serve.

 

Lake Phalen Rowing is a not-for-profit community rowing organization located in St. Paul on the North shore of Lake Phalen, operating in partnership with St. Paul Parks and Recreation and many schools in surrounding communities. We are an inclusive community that ignites a passion for rowing by encouraging the development of rowers, and celebrating team and individual success so every rower can experience the life-long benefits of rowing.
